Soundtrack Tel Aviv Film Festival is launching a new program, in which musicians pick a film they love and allow the audience to watch it through their eyes.
The screening will be followed with a live discussion on stage between musician Ilai Ashdot and actress and dancer Lir Katz, about “Beau Travail”, about dance and about music in film.
Beau Travail
Music: Eran Tzur
The film tells the story of a Foreign Legion officer, Galoup, who recalls his time stationed in Djibouti, Africa. The strict, regimented life of the Legion is disrupted by the arrival of a young, popular recruit, Sentain. Galoup's intense jealousy of Sentain and his perceived favor from their admired commander, Commandant Forestier, leads to Galoup's destructive actions, which ultimately result in Sentain's destruction, Galoup's expulsion from the Legion, and his self-imposed exile in Marseille.
Total duration approx. 120 mins.
