Celebrating the 40th (+1) Anniversary of this classic documemtary on Gil Scott-Heron - the artists whom The Melody Maker called "the most dangerous musician alive" and many saw as the Godfather of rap.
This is Robert Mugge’s classic and absorbing portrait of the late soul and jazz poet-singer-songwriter and famed spoken-word performer Gil Scott-Heron, filmed at national monuments and local neighbourhoods of Washington DC, and featuring a live set with his Midnight Band at the Wax Museum Nightclub.
The screening will be followed by a video conversation with director Robert Mugge hosted by Soundtrack Tel Aviv artistic director, Yashiv Cohen.
