This beloved animated jukebox musical comedy film, produced by Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment, is set in Calatonia, a city of anthropomorphic animals. Optimistic koala Buster Moon attempts to save his struggling theater by hosting a massive singing competition, but a mishap with his assistant accidentally increases the prize money to $100,000, attracting a variety of animal contestants. The film follows the efforts of Buster and several chosen animals, as they pursue their singing dreams, facing their personal struggles and working to save the theater.
