Let’s Get Lost
Bruce Weber's haunting black-and-white documentary captures jazz trumpeter Chet Baker in his final years, weaving together contemporary interviews with the aging, heroin-ravaged musician and archival footage from his 1950s heyday. The film reveals Baker's journey from celebrated West Coast jazz sensation to broken troubadour through conversations with former lovers, bandmates, and collaborators. Weber's intimate cinematography contrasts Baker's weathered, scarred face with glamorous images from his youth, creating a melancholic meditation on artistic brilliance destroyed by addiction. Shot just months before Baker's mysterious death in Amsterdam in 1988.

The screening of “Let's Get Lost,” will be followed by a live show by Avishai Cohen, a leading figure on the international jazz scene and one of the most sought-after trumpet players of his generation. As a performer, Avishai is endowed with an expressive ability that has been described as crossing borders and penetrating hearts, so much so that The New York Times compared him to Miles Davis.
Cohen has played with countless great artists in Israel and abroad, and has also recorded for many soundtracks, the most famous of which is for the film "American Gangster" by director Ridley Scott, starring Denzel Washington. Cohen will be accompanied on stage by Honduras born cellist Esther Valladares, who is currently a member of the Israeli Camerata Orchestra Jerusalem.
