Shorts on The Way
n 2019, Shorts on The Way was centered around Hunger.
Hunger is a feeling of an animal or person when food is not provided to required extent. The alleviation of hunger exists in every living being, even the most inferior. Physical Hunger. Spiritual Hunger. Social Hunger. Hunger as a need, a lack, a desire.
Shorts on The Way is a joint initiative of International Student Film Festival and the Gesher Fund for Multicultural Film. The project aims to strengthen the status of the short film and allow its young directors at the beginning of their careers an opportunity to express themselves on their way to their first feature film.
As part of the annual project, young filmmakers were invited to submit proposals for short feature films under the theme Hunger. Of 150 submissions, 5 filmmakers received grants for development and guidance in writing a script for a short film. During the festival, a pitching event will be held in which the five young filmmakers will introduce their projects before three judges, industry professionals, and the wide audience. Two of the projects will win a production grant offered by the Gesher Fun for Multicultural Film. Upon completion, the films will be previewed in the opening night of the 2020 International Student Film Festival. The winners will be announced during the festival’s closing night.
