South Bronx graffiti artist Zoro is commissioned to paint a backdrop for a hip-hop concert.
The first narrative feature film about hip-hop delves into the vibrant NY hip hop scene of the early 1980s. Graffiti artist Lee Quiñones, hip hop pioneer Fab Five Freddy and other hip-hop trailblazers – be it graffiti artists, rappers or breakdancers – play versions of themselves, in this iconic movie that first brought hip hop culture into the cinema.
The screening will be followed by a video Q&A with director Charlie Ahearn, hosted by radio presenter, podcaster and music editor Tomer Gershenman.
