The Beast in the Jungle (La Bête dans la jungle)
For 25 years, in an enormous nightclub, a man and a woman watch and wait for an unknown event. From 1979 to 2004, we follow the evolution of disco to techno music, the story of a love, the story of an obsession.
The story is freely adapted from the 1903 novella of the same name by American-British author Henry James.
The screening will be preceded by a short lecture by musician, DJ and art curator, Ahal Eden: "The Beast in the Jungle" takes place in the space of the nocturnal club scene and leads us to ask: Is the night an escape from reality, a fantasy destined to fade away and break our hearts with the morning light, or perhaps it is actually the ripe, complete, most far-reaching embodiment of reality? Is ‘the night’, as the opposed to ‘the day’, the place where you escape for a moment from ‘real life’, or perhaps the place where you create it?”
Total duration approx. 120 minutes
