DocuTime – Students
DocuTime is a joint project between the International Student Film festival and KAN Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation. As part of the collaboration, selected students from various film schools around the country produced two-minute long short documentary films, inspired by the DocuTime TV series and under the creative guidance of the series’ creator, Itay Asher.
DocuTime was launched three years ago and is broadcasted weekly on KAN’s Facebook page to this day. The series deals with a wide range of subjects and characters, and presents their stories in a directm, rhythmic style, with an emphasis on cinematic visual aesthetics. The selected students bring to the project a piece of their personal worldview, as well as their social and artistic perspective. The films have been assembled and the result is is quite a diverse collection. DocuTime – Students is a rich, documentary that sets its focus on the story of Israelis whose voices are often not heard in the media. Above all, the project seeks to mirror the collective situation as a culture, a society, and as a state.
