John & Yoko: Above Us Only Sky
If there is anyone left in the world who is still not in love with John Lennon, this film will surely sway them. Lennon’s charisma fills the screen: simple, captivating, and inspiring. Lennon at his piano, Lennon eating breakfast, Lennon in bed, and even Lennon in the bathroom is surprising, funny, life-loving, modest, and, of course, devilishly talented. John’s collaboration with Yoko on his iconic album Imagine began in 1963 and did not end until 1971. Most of it took place in a country house, their refuge from the hectic city. The footage—featuring recording sessions with superstars like Clapton and Harrison as well as tender moments between John and Yoko—is revealed here for the first time, nearly 50 years later, allowing us to witness the couple’s complex and compelling creative process up-close.
