Paris, 1928. Russian dancer, actress, art patron and Belle Époque figure Ida Rubinstein commissions music for her new ballet from the composer Maurice Ravel - a golden opportunity for the talented but underappreciated composer to prove his talent. Ravel, who feels that his entire career depends on this piece of music is unable to find inspiration and paralyzed by a creative block.
He dives into the depths of his soul and looks back on his life - the beginning of his career, the successes, the failures, the unrequited love... and returns with "Bolero" - a groundbreaking work that will become his most famous work and one of the most well-known and popular classical works ever since.
