FASHION 2# /
Israeli Short Fashion Films Program + Lecture
For the first time in the history of fashion and film in Israel, the International Student Film Festival, under the curation of Eyal de Leeuw, is pleased to present a collection of Israeli fashion films. A selection nineteen works by directors, photographers and artists presents their perspective on the local, contemporary fashion world.
Israel’s film and fashion industries are both greater and older than the state itself. The two evolved simultaneously, and have obtained international success and a local, loving audience, though the connection between the two has always been a functional and local one, answering a certain need but never expanding beyond being a mere solution. One of the greatest and most positive disruptions of the digital world is the transition from still photography to a moving picture, with a tremendous distribution capability, and there’s nothing like a garment in motion, after all, it is intended to be as such. Fashion films in the digital age provide a precise answer to designers, brands and companies who are interested in creating independent content along with photographers, directors, and web-based artists who make use of the new format of online fashion films - to develop a new and wonderful genre.
# The Program will be accompanied by a lecture on what is fashion film.
